About the Enneagram

Nine Types.

Infinite Potential.

Art by Kyra Hinton

I’ve always enjoyed personality tools and how they offer us a glance in the mirror. Those moments of self-recognition can be entertaining, if even at times they’re a little exasperating.

But for me, the Enneagram landed in a deeper way than personality frameworks I’d encountered in the past. Its nine types reach further into who we are, each favoring a different strategy with which we satisfy our needs. It allows us to move past simply acknowledging WHAT we’re like and get to the heart of WHY we are who we are.

And finding our type is just the beginning. The Enneagram framework beckons us to move beyond self-awareness, handing us a map to the specific tools needed to grow past our blind spots and habitual behaviors, to broaden our inner resources in times stress and in growth, and to live fully into our strengths. As we learn to see ourselves with more clarity and grace, something wonderful happens-- we find compassion and understanding for others we likely lacked when we observed behavior apart from motivation.

Applied to staff teams, the benefits of the Enneagram only expand, regardless of your team's stage of development. For new teams, what may have taken years to learn about each other is gathered in hours. For established teams, how you communicate, make decisions and handle conflict is refined and enhanced. Organizations all over the world are discovering how adding the Enneagram to their workplace leads to better communication, increased collaboration, optimization of team roles, and deeper employee engagement.

Let’s start the conversation about how I can support you or your team in working with the Enneagram.
